ENNEAGRAM FOR WRITERS w/ SANDRA SMITH | Flatiron Writers Room | Saturday, 15. February 2020

The Enneagram is a map that indicates the internal workings of our ego structure. It reveals nine unique perspectives and ways humans filter information and react, as well as patterns and internal stories associated with each Enneagram type. The uniqueness of this system lies in how it identifies motivations beneath behaviors. The Enneagram acknowledges how the three centers of intelligence--head, heart and body--impact how we make decisions and problem solve. Working with the Enneagram allows us to see others as they are to themselves rather than through our projections.
In this Enneagram class designed for writers, we’ll explore each of the nine types in depth, naming the strengths, challenges and paths for growth. Writers can use this exploration to create and develop characters, and once writers know their own Enneagram type, they’ll see how their placement of attention, blind spots and inherent gifts influence their writing lives.
Though not required, reading The Essential Enneagram prior to the workshop can offer some insights into the Enneagram system.
This class meets Saturday, February 15, 2020, from 10am-3-m with a 30-minute lunch break. We encourage you to bring a brown bag lunch.
Cost: $90 General Admission, $81 for current FWR Co-Working members. Partial need-based scholarships are available for this workshop.
