Collective Impact Dinner No. 5 | Jim Adams Farm & Table | Friday, 14. December 2018

We’ve spent two years highlighting our local food heroes! Come celebrate with us at the Collective Impact Dinner series grand finale! This series was started to address and discuss food justice, sovereignty and inequity in our community. Most importantly it highlights the folks that run the organizations doing the day to day work with community. We invite the leader of an organization to dinner where we eat and here about them on a personal level and the food justice work they do. Umi Feeds is one such organization. Umi Feeds is a food waste recovery program that feeds the homeless in Atlanta through recovering food from restaurants, catering businesses and pretty much anywhere good food can be diverted from the trash. “To date, we’ve served almost 5000 meals to homeless men and women in Atlanta. I've been amazed at how this has taken off. While in amazement at the growth I'm simultaneously in disbelief with the number of people without housing. It's very humbling to see how many people we serve in need of food, resources, and immediate shelter.”Through the dinner series we’ve raised over $2,500 strictly from ticket sales that went to Gangstas to Growers, Carver’s Produce, Organix Matters and Grow Where You Are. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to these amazing folks running these food justice organizations in Atlanta. Purchase your tickets for the finale in support of Umi Feeds now!
