About your Instructor:
Dr. Clemens Ley is one of the world's foremost experts on blockchain. Originally from Munich, Germany, Dr. Ley completed his Undergraduate and Master's Degree at the prestigious Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München, graduating with distinction in 2007. He then moved to the UK to continue his research at the world famous lab of Professor Michael Benedikt, completing his PhD in Theoretical Computer Science from the Unversity of Oxford in 2011. 
Since Dr. Ley completed his PhD, he has forged a career blending research, entrepreneurship and education. As an academic he has been a researcher at the famous École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland and his papers, which are viewable on Google Scholar, are the result of collaborations Dr. Ley has forged with researchers from all over the world. 
As an entrepreneur, Dr. Ley is now working on his fourth company, BitcoinToken, a new kind of database system that stores data in the Bitcoin Cash blockchain. Building a database system on top of Bitcoin was thought to be impossible until Dr. Ley presented a proof that Bitcoin is Turing complete. This result makes it possible to evaluate smart contracts on a low-fee blockchain like Bitcoin Cash which leads to a 10-100x reduction in price compared to Ethereum. 
As an educator, Dr. Ley is a Director of Studies with EDeeU Education.
