  • Karen Buttwinick I am a local mixed media artist who recently went back to painting after many years of working as a printmaker. I am inspired by nature and its ability to calm the spirit and reinvigorate the mind. In my artwork, my goal is to transport the viewer to a peaceful contemplative place through the use of photographic imagery, color, texture and a variety of materials including beeswax which adds a rich ethereal quality.
  • Insio Che 415-307-5335 www.insioart.com Artist’s statement My love for classical music developed my artistic sensibilities and eventually led me to the appreciation of fine art drawing and painting. I attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree majoring in Illustration in 2002. While continuing my life-long study in art and music education, I attended the music program at Holy Names University and received a Master of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy in 2011. The process of studying art and music has not been an easy journey but I feel grateful to continue to fulfill my dream. I am currently teaching art to elders and teach private piano lessons, I am happy to do what I love and paint passionately; I hope to share the joy of arts with others.
  • Ellen Zucker Artist’s Statement: I step up to the blank canvas, excited to make those first wild abstract marks with brush, stick or rag, color dripping from my hand. The suggestion of a human figure begins to call to me from the jumble of shapes, colors, lines. I pursue the suggestion. I love the wordless meeting of inner and outer experience, the call and response between the canvas and my own visceral responses. I answer a question that has no words with an answer that has no reasons, just yes to one mark and no to another. There's no better way for me to spend a day.
  • Excited to be a part of this!
  • Mojgan Saberi is a Firehouse Gilman Artist and she will be showing her paintings and glass fusion for the GAW event. Born in Tehran Iran Mojgan immigrated to the United States in 1983. She graduated in Architecture & Urban Planning from University of Texas. As a practicing architect in California elements of geometry, forms, contour and color have always been present in her design concepts both in abstract and non-abstract ways. Her inspiration for her art comes from lucid poetry, nature's purity, and simplicity with complex relations to human interactions. She likes to explore with objects in dreamlike contexts to create scenery and moods. Her childhood memories and the Eastern culture plays a major role in her creative thought process which is interwoven with her adopted culture in the U.S. Feelings and emotions play significant role to connect entities together in her artwork. Mojgan likes to express her passion for nature and life with blend of various mediums through Glass fusing, painting and photography.
