Managing Appraisals Effectively - Birmingham | | Thursday, 04. June 2020

This one-day workshop focuses on the practical elements of conducting appraisals effectively. This means understanding what is good practice and what makes appraisals fair and developmental. There will be an opportunity to explore some of the challenges presented when giving appraisals - in particular, how do you deal with the reactions from staff when you give constructive feedback that is or may be perceived to be critical of their performance? Dealing with difficult conversations is a skill that is key to supporting and developing staff.
During this course, you will be able to:


analyse different approaches to the management of staff appraisals.


identify good practice when applying school policy and Government guidance to staff appraisals.


develop and practise the skills needed when dealing with tricky conversations.


evaluate a real case study and identify a plan of action for developing best practice.

Do I need my membership number to book?
Yes. If you are booking a member place you will be required to enter the correct membership number. You can find your membership number by phoning membership on 0300 3030333 option 2.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Is my booking transferrable?
Bookings may only be transferred at the discretion of the Professional Development team. These will need to be made in writing to events@naht.org.uk before the event. Transfers and cancellations may be subject to a charge.

Can I update my registration information?
Any updates to your booking must be made in writing to the Professional Development team at events@naht.org.uk
Does the name on the booking need to match the delegate?
The names of each individual delegate must be entered during the booking process along with a unique email address for each delegate as this will be used for the final confirmation.
