Circuit Playground: A Beginner’s Workshop on Electronics and Coding!
Sunday, May 19th or  Sunday, June 11:30pm - 4:00pmMember - $65Non-Member - $75This afternoon workshop is for anyone who has been looking to learn electronics but hasn’t had the chance. No experience is necessary to join the class! In the workshop we will be covering the Circuit Playground Express, an intuitive and easy to use electronics learning platform. You’ll learn how to control lights, sound and more. You’ll even be able to program your own instrument by the end of the class!The Circuit Playground Express is:

Packed with lights, buttons, switches, a speaker, a microphone, a temperature sensor, a light sensor, and a motion sensor, all of which we will cover.

Programmed using MakeCode, an easy to use drag and drop web interface similar to the Scratch programming language...

...or CircuitPython, designed to experiment with microcontrollers.

Arduino compatible if you’ve been meaning to learn Arduino. (beyond the scope of this class)

Can also run CS Discoveries physical computing exercises. (beyond the scope of this class)


This class is open to anyone age 10 and up.

We reserve the right to cancel the class if we do not have a minimum amount of students. If we cancel, we will refund you in full and notify you.
You may cancel and get a full refund up to three days before the class. After that, refunds are contingent on us being able to fill your seat. Under no circumstances do we offer refunds to individuals who cancel on the same day. This ruins the party for everyone.
