Classes and Age Groups
Gymboree Play and Music in Park Slope offers drop-off yoga classes with optional parent participation for children who are 4 years - 6 years old.
We offer baby classes from 0 months - 12 months and toddler classes between 2.5 years - 3 years. Both require parent/guardian participation.

More about our Yoga Program
Yoga is a system of physical exercises or postures (called asanas). These asanas build strength, flexibility, and confidence. Yoga is also about breathing (called pranayama), which helps calm and refresh the body and mind.
Yoga helps kids to:


Develop body awareness.


Learn how to use their bodies in a healthy way.


Manage stress through breathing, awareness, meditation and healthy movement.


Build concentration.


Increase their confidence and positive self-image.


Feel part of a healthy, non-competitive group.


Children derive enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improve.

Park Slope Schedule for Baby and Toddler Yoga
Babies
 0 months - 12 months: 9 AM 
12 months - 24 months: 12 pm
Toddlers
2.5 years - 3 years: 10 am
4 years - 6 years (optional drop-off): 11 am

About Our Yoga Teacher, Rinchen Bhutia Littman 
I was born and raised in the North Eastern part of India (Sikkim), in the Himalayan Region. In our culture, yoga is more than just a healthy exercise; it is a way of life that is deeply rooted in our consciousness and history. So I began my yoga study and practice as a child, and have continued it ever since.
I was educated in Sikkim, and then I attended University in Chandigarh, ITFT College, near Delhi. After university, I was hired for a work/study program in New York where I met my husband.  I am now the mother of a toddler, my daughter Keira.  We live in Park Slope where I continue to practice yoga and have earned my Yoga Teaching Credential from Abhaya Yoga. 
I strongly believe in the benefits of yoga for the young and old –and even for the very young. It relieves stress, improves relaxation and restores a healthy balance in body and mind. Babies and young children also feel the stress and frustration that is inherent in normal child development. Yoga techniques can help soothe your child and make them feel more comfortable.
I love being a mother to my active, curious child, but I know first-hand how demanding it can be. I hope you and your child can join my baby-parent yoga group so we can enjoy the physical and spiritual gifts of yoga together.
