                                                            DATE CHANGE ALERT!!!!

                                                   THURSDAY, JANUARY 2nd @ 6:30PM

Soca Graffiti is starting the year with its third installation at Basquiat's Bottle on for its monthly retro soca dance party and jam session. This is a unique event where we merge the best elements of old school Brooklyn summer backyard parties in Flatbush with the open mics and jam sessions found in BedStuy and Bushwick. It's where the Caribbean culture of South Brooklyn unites with the ever-growing art community found in Brooklyn's northern neighborhoods.

And now we have a new addition to the experience: an OPEN LIVE ART INSTALLATION called the GRAFFITI TAG FLAG--a piece of canvas that will be set up for anyone who wants to write something or draw something. Visual artists, poets, writers....come on out. Make a friend while you create and dance simultaneously.

Once a month, all of Brooklyn comes together to listen to soca songs that take us back to the times we fell in love with the culture: back when we had brass in the bands, flag crews at every fete, and needed little more than sneakers and a bandana.

........and we let the drummers go IN........

........and we have a riddim section comin......

........and live bass....

........and we let vocalists and emcees jump on the mic every now and jam with the musicians......

........and the soca NEVER stops.....

Join us on Thursday, Januaruy 2nd as we travel back to the years 2000, 2001, and 2002 playing the hits that made each year memorable.

Come reminisce.

Come dance.

Come dingolay.

See you there.....
