Cooking Matters for Child Care Professionals - Broomfield County | Broomfield FISH | Saturday, 11. April 2020

Cooking Matters for Child Care Professionals teaches both home- and center-based ECE professionals with limited food budgets about healthy meal preparation and creating a positive food environment for the children in their care. This hands-on, discussion-based training covers topics such as choosing healthy and affordable foods that appeal to children, encouraging positive mealtime attitudes, safe cooking with confidence, and menu management on a budget. You will engage in cooking and preparing nutritious meals that meet the Child and ***** Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines.
The training is free of cost to you. You will receive a manual highlighting the information covered in the course and a variety of recipes, child-friendly cooking tools, and 8 hours of continuing education in health, safety, and nutrition.
The training is appropriate for in-home child care providers and center-based ECE staff, including classroom, food-service, and administrative staff serving primarily low income families. For safety reasons, there are no children permitted at the training. Lunch and snacks will be prepared and provided as part of the training.
*Registrations are processed electronically; tickets do not need to be printed and brought to the training.
