Watch the USS Constitution turnaround voyage from Nantucket Lightship | Nantucket Lightship/LV-112 | Wednesday, 04. July 2018

Join us on the historic Nantucket Lightship/LV-112's weather deck with friends and family to watch a spectacular view of another historic vessel, the USS Constitution ("Old Ironsides"), during her annual  turnaround voyage in Boston’s inner harbor. Watching Constitution is a sight to behold as the famous Navy ship voyages out to Castle Island in South Boston to fire a 21-gun salute in honor of those who served, sacrificed, and fought for our nation's independence, before returning to her berth at the Charlestown Navy Yard.
Kicking off this celebration on Independence Day, will be the first time "Old Ironsides" will be participating again in this historic tradition on July 4th since she was dry-docked for a major restoration in 2015. The USS Constitution is a wooden-hulled, three-masted heavy frigate of the United States Navy named by President George Washington after the United States Constitution. The USS Constitution was built in Boston's North End, Hartt's Shipyard (1794-1797). She is the world's oldest commissioned naval vessel still afloat.
Nantucket Lightship‘s berth boasts one of the best views of Boston Harbor and its vibrant city skyline from the East Boston waterfront. Nantucket Lightship/LV-112, is a former U.S. Coast Guard floating lighthouse, a WWII Examination  Vessel (USS Nantucket 1942-45) and now is a National Historic Landmark, National Treasure, museum and floating learning center, open to the general public. This event serves a fundraisor to help support Nantucket/LV-112's restoration and educational programs.
