Civic Engagement | St. John's Institute | Friday, 19. January 2018

Our Community Youth Leadership Program is offering a workshop that explores the political sphere and multiple ways for us to get involved.

Experience an informative discussion with Ghanaian Politics Professor, Dr. Isaac Odoom on the following topics:
1. Levels of Local Governance: understanding the different tiers and their duties.
2. Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
3. Navigating the rights we have available to us as recent immigrants, refugees or international students.
4. The importance of exercising our civic/democratic rights and how to do so.

There will also be a panel discussion at the end of the session with Dr. Odoom, MLA David Shepherd and Mike Sandare. So, come with all the questions you have about the government, engaging with politicians, running a successful student government campaign, and lots more!

This will also be an opportunity to network with other African and Caribbean young professionals in our community, create relationships and possibly mentorship.

***Food & Beverages will be provided.

Confirmation of attendance required.
