Bridges & Backroads Tour of Fairfield County | Alley Park | Sunday, 26. April 2020

Get ready for an amazing afternoon exploring some of the beautiful covered bridges and scenic countryside of Fairfield County. This guided tour takes you back to the time when horses ruled the roads. Join your tour guide at Alley Park and explore the George Hutchins Covered Bridge as you begin your journey through the scenic “fair fields” of our county. Admire the Hanaway and Mink Hollow covered bridges from the comfort of your motorcoach as your guide shares history and stories passed down from generations before us.
Stops at the covered bridges allow you an opportunity to get up close and examine the craftsmanship and detail of these architectural wonders. At Rock Mill Bridge, listen to the Hocking River roaring through the gorge. Then travel back to 1824 as you tour Rock Mill and learn the history of this amazing engineering masterpiece and the restoration efforts that brought it back to life. Learn about life on the Ohio & Erie canal at Lockville Canal Park, where you can stroll through the Hartman II Covered Bridge, a perfect example of a true “kissing bridge.”
