Growing Under the Stars with Master Gardeners: intermediate wildlife habitat training | University of Nevada Cooperative Extension | Tuesday, 08. September 2020

University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is an outreach arm of the University that extends unbiased, research-based knowledge to local communities. Educational programs and projects are developed based on local needs in partnership with other agencies and volunteers.
Do you have or want to create a Certified Wildlife Habitat in your backyard?  Do you know what specific plants are appropriate for our desert climate that will attract hummingbirds, butterflies, native bees and other local wildlife to your yard?  Master Gardener Gail Brandys will share a PowerPoint presentation on how you can create or improve a Certified Wildlife Habitat in your own yard. The presentation will review the National Wildlife Federation step-by-step guidance on the criteria necessary to support and sustain local wildlife, discuss potential pitfalls and challenges and will provide numerous helpful examples of animal/plant relationships that are specific to our climate.
