PADI Open Water Diver - School Holiday Special | Friday, 10. July 2020

Learn to dive with Go Dive Launceston & Southern Tasmanian Divers!

We are happy to announce a school holiday special for the family. When you book two or more students on, the course fee is reduced to $499 per person!

*Please note that the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve and event details are subject to change.

About the course:

The Open Water Course has three main components run over two weekends.

Knowledge Development

Complete all of your dive theory at your own pace and in a time frame that suits you with PADI’s eLearning. Study at home where you will have access to interactive videos and quizzes making learning much more fun and engaging. Options are available for either PC or tablet (touch) versions of eLearning. Want to do it old school? Don’t worry, options to study via non digital means are also available. Once your theory is done, it is off to the dive shop to get fitted out with dive equipment, and then onto the pool.

Pool Dives (Day 1 - First weekend - Saturday)

This is where you’ll take your first breaths underwater. Diving in the pool is a safe and comfortable environment where you will learn and practice the skills you need to be a confident and safe scuba diver.

Ocean Dives (Days 2 & 3 - Second weekend - Saturday & Sunday)

Now it is time to head to the ocean. Over two days you will complete four ocean dives on Tasmania’s beautiful east coast, world renowned for its temperate water diving. Stay in comfortable accommodation for the weekend while you apply the skills you learnt in the pool to real ocean diving.

You will never forget your first dive!

How much will it cost?

Our PADI Open Water diver course price is usually $595. With this holiday special, if you book 2 or more students, the course fee is reduced to $499. This includes:

Tuition, including pool entry (pool session) and certification fees

Access to PADI elearning, Log Book and other training materials

Four shore dives

Full equipment hire for the duration of the course

Your PADI certification card

What equipment will I need?

We will supply you with scuba equipment for the duration of your course. We will arrange a personal fitting which will be part of the instruction process. We do recommend having your own fins, mask and snorkel for comfort and hygiene reasons, which we can also help you with.

Proper Equipment is the key to enjoyment of your diving and part of the PADI training philosophy. We strongly recommend you talk to your dive professional about your own Total Dive System.

Is there a minimum age?

Parental consent is required for children under 18. The minimum age in Australia to learn to dive is 12. Please contact the store for information on Junior Open Water courses.

Do I need a dive medical?

Before taking part in any dive course with a practical component, you must have completed a medical questionnaire. There may be some instances where you are required to undertake a recreational dive medical (contact store for details or discuss with your diving Instructor)
