Kettle Creek Trail Challenge 5K/10K | Kettle Creek State Park | Sunday, 05. November 2017

The Kettle Creek Trail Challenge is a new event that includes both a 5K and challenging 10K course! The 5K course is considered mild to moderate in terms of terrain and difficulty while the 10K course is geared toward the avid hiker/trail runner. The starting point is the same for campground area of Kettle Creek State Park. 5K participants will be directed to Butler Trail and 10K participants will take the trail towards Kettle Creek Road and connect to Alice Trail (part of the Donut Hole Trail). All proceeds will benefit Community Nursing Service (CNS) of Clinton County's Charity Care Program. CNS is a non-profit, United Way partner agency providing skilled nursing care and physical/occupational/speech therapy to individuals in their homes. For more information, contact Stephanie Probert at 570.660.2974 or Facebook through this event page. Register online now at ultrasignup.com.

  • Some info from the State Park regarding the weekend of Kettle Creek Trail Challenge..... The upper campground is available for camping that weekend - folks can make reservations through the reservation system - 1-888-PAPARKS or using online at visitpaparks.com. The upper campground is pet friendly - has some electric and some non electric sites, but is rustic (pit toilet). The lower campground is open as well - but no pets. It does have showers and all sites have electric. Folks in the upper can use the showers at a $4.00 per site per night fee (paid when and if they use the showers). No alcohol is permitted in either site.
  • Just a reminder.....the first annual Kettle Creek Trail Challenge 5K/10K is just a month away! Sign up now on ultrasignup.com to be guaranteed a t-shirt! http://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=49250
  • Just a couple pics on the trails....
  • Here is a map of the 10K course if anyone is interested in trying it out. It's not all completely clear right now, but doable. I just did it a couple weeks ago and there were a few trees down and a patch of stinging nettle that wasn't too fun, but other than that it was GREAT! That's what makes trail running interesting, right?!?!?
  • Here is the link for registration.....
