Frank DeLorenzo's Leonia Memorial Dinner | Dante's Italian Restaurant | Saturday, 03. March 2018

The NJ Memorial to our friend FRANK DeLORENZO will start at St. John's, at the 5pm Mass, which is being said for Frank & his late wife, Sharon (Galland). Happy to announce that Doug Forsthoff, who, along with Frank & the late "Big Mike" Werner, made up the Folk Group that provided such wonderful music in the 70s at the 5pm Mass, will be there to sing one of Frank's most popular "Church Songs," "The Fisherman."After that, Dinner at Dante's. The Menu includes Mixed Green Salad, Fried Calamari, Eggplant Rollatini, a Veal dish & a Chicken dish, Rigatoni in Vodka Sauce, Coffee, tea & soda. Remember, DANTE'S is a BOYB if you're interested in bringing wine or beer. Cost: $44 which includes tax, tip & the private room, assuming we get 30 people. Frank, who grew up in Leonia, was very involved in the town while he lived here. In addition to the Folk Mass, he was on the Parish Council for a bit & leader of BSA Troop 61 at St. John's for many years. He was also involved in the Players Guild throughout the 70s, appearing as Dauntless in ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, the Wood y Allen part in PLAY IT AGAIN SAM, Corrado in DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY & more. He wrote an original musical version of ROBIN HOOD that was first presented as a Children's show at the Guild...so popular, that they had to add an additional performance to accommodate the crowd. Later, the show was expanded & presented at St. John's in 2/1974. The next year, his SIR BOSS was presented at St. John's Frank graduated from Anna C. Scott School, and when in 4th grade (I think) he entered & won a contest for the School Song, which is still the official School song all these years later...and was a 1964 graduate of LHS. Everyone that knew Frank is welcome to join us.
