Native Seed Propagation Workshop - Teacher Training & Groundswell Teacher PD Training
Native Plants are the preferred species for habitat restoration and conservation projects.  Plants and seeds however, can be very costly for such projects.  All teachers, whether you are working within a school or on a special project in your community or organization, are welcome to learn how to propagate native plants to use for your site.  This workshop is also great for any teacher looking to incorporate native plants, on any level, into their teachings.
Please join Rebecca Marquardt and Courtney Cheers at the Wittenbach Wege Center, where this workshop will cover the entire propagation process:
1) Identification of native plants
2) Seed collecting
3) Seed cleaning techniques
4) Seed storage options
5) Stratification methods
6) Germination best practices.
Attendees will gain hands on experience in all phases of the propagation process and methods to engage students and volunteers in the importance of using native plants. Attendees will also receive seed to take home for projects and resources for successful native plant propagation.
