10th Annual Vegan Chili Cook-Off | Coffman Memorial Union Great Hall | Saturday, 23. February 2019

Join other hungry folks and sample vegan chili at our 10th Annual Vegan Chili Cook-Off. Rate your favorites and help determine the winners. We promise that you'll leave feeling warmer than when you arrived.
Bring friends and spend the evening sampling tasty, homemade vegan chili. Everyone is welcome, and it's a great way to introduce omnivores to delicious vegan food! The chili goes fast, so be sure to arrive right at 6 for best selection. Use #VeganChiliMpls when you share about the the event on social media!
This year, the event will be held on February 23rd in the spacious great hall of Coffman Union. The hall is wheelchair accessible, and there is ample paid parking in the East River Road Garage.

How many people can be on a team?
Up to four
How much chili do I need to make?
Four gallons. Folks in the professional category are encouraged to make more.
What do the categories mean?

Bean Based: Your chili contains beans and no mock meats, such as seitan
Meatless Meat and Non Traditional: Your chili has a mock meat or does not contain beans (if you have both a mock meat and beans, this is your category too!)
Professional: You work at a local restaurant, food truck, or food-making business that would like to be listed as a co-host on the Facebook event, and will post in the event on a schedule to be sent out as well as on your own page

How are winners determined?
Attendees rate each chili and the scores are then tallied by our volunteers to determine a winner in each category. 
What are the prizes?
Tickets for two to our annual banquet on March 23 and items from local vegan-friendly businesses. 
Will I get chili?
Each person on your team will get a bowl of "people's chili" made by our volunteers, as well as a pitcher of water, before the contest starts.
What do I need to bring?

Four gallons of chili
A crock pot or pots
A serving spoon or ladle to serve chili into 2oz sample cups that we'll provide
A sheet listing the ingredients of your chili and common allergens (we'll send you a template)

When do I arrive?
5 pm  This will give you time to set up and eat before attendees enter.
Where do I park?
In the East River Road Garage.
Can I drop off my chili before parking?
Yes, volunteers will be available to carry into your chili to your table before you park.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
No, all are welcome.
What's the refund policy?
Refunds are available up to 30 days in advnace.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, we'll have you on a list to enter.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes, look for the link sent to you by Eventbrite.
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
If you can't attend, you may print out your ticket and give it to someone else.
