Love Poems to my Parents Dance Performance | School for Contemporary Dance and Thought | Saturday, 23. September 2017

On Saturday Sept 23 & Sunday, Sept 24, I will present a collection of solos called "Love Poems to my Parents" at the School for Contemporary Dance and Thought. Love Poems is an immersion into the rich musical heritage of a bicultural family. Through family films, iconic music and studied gesture, the dance shifts time and place, transporting us from the languid beaches of Veracruz to the dusty roads of Georgia.

I have invited beloved local musicians Tony Silva, Zoë Darrow and poet/singer/songwriter Pan Morigan to perform with me. In addition to the Love Poems solos, you will witness a reinterpretation of our first lady Eve, and other explorations into the intersection of dance and music.

Tickets are $10 if you get them ahead of time at
  • If you missed Garden of Eve at Cultural Chaos you'll get to see it at my show Love Poems to my Parents next week! http://lovepoems.bpt.me
  • I'm checking my costumes, sewing props (well Tony is) and overall, getting excited.
  • Have a great performance!! It's moving day for me...
  • Sorry not to make it. We will most likely be away unless stopped by Hurricane Irma 😣
