Behaviour IS Communication - Ways of responding effectively. | Tuesday, 09. June 2020
About this Event
What if let our autistic and neurodiverse kids behave how they wanted to? What if instead of stopping the behaviour and trying to change it, we saw, accepted it and then responded to it with interest and openness? Seeing behaviour differently can change everything!'
Join me, Dee Nic Sitric, in this live workshop and start relearning with me.
Deirdre Nic Sitric (Dee) is an independent Autism consultant, advocate and trainer who started her own company back in 2015. She has over 25 years of practical experience, working with educational settings, both mainstream and specialist, and with the autistic and neurodiversity community. She has been part of an Early Years ASD Development team to improve EY provision for children with ASD in Oxfordshire working alongside Emily Rubin of the SCERTS Model. As an autism advocate, ally and trainer/ practitioner, Dee is passionate about schools and society ‘leveling up’ around autism and neurodiversity and sharing good practice. Her philosophy is that through education, accessible resources, practical strategies and a commitment to consistently incorporating the experiences and perspectives of autistic people, her team can support positive outcomes when it comes to autism and neurodiversity. So her aim first and foremost is to empower autistic people to navigate their world, but also aims to make the world a more autism-friendly environment and the society more accommodating to the neurodiverse. Dee has an energy about her that cannot be rivaled by many and her personality and drive are infectious.
