The Canadian CED Network in Ontario and partners are pleased to present six stories of social enterprise in three engaging webinars. Wondering what social enterprise really looks like? What it takes to succeed? What impacts social enterprises can have? Join us this November for insights into the worlds of six social enterprises operating in Ontario, and learn what it could mean for your work to start, grow and support social enterprises in our province.
In this session...
Jason Smith, Manager of Fusion Youth Activity and Technology Centre will describe how and why the municipality of Ingersoll decided to develop, own and run this social enterprise that has successfully engaged and trained local youth for over 10 years.
Paul Finkelstein (tbc), a Stratford highschool teacher will share the story of the Screaming Avocado Cafe, how it connects youth to local food and how it benefits the students, school, and community.
A small rural municipality and a small city board of education are both see running a social enterprise as an effective strategy to fulfil part of their mandate. This session will include a discussion on the many ways any social enterprise and its local government can benefit each other. Share your ideas and questions about how to make this happen.
