Private tour of historic Portland Mausoleum | Wilhelm's Portland Memorial Funeral Home, Mausoleum, and Crematory | Saturday, 16. November 2019

Preservation Artisans Guild is pleased to invite you to a private tour of the historic Wilhelm's Portland Memorial Funeral Home, Mausoleum and Crematory Saturday, November 16th from 1 - 2:30 pm. 
This is a limited, private event hosted by Preservation Artisans Guild. Tickets are $15 each and limited to TEN total available.
Your name will be added to a guest list. Only listed guests will be admitted - there will be no tickets available at the door.

A few facts about The Portland Mausoleum: 
While on the tour, you will learn many surprising and interesting things about The Portland Mausoleum and its history, including these facts we can't resist sharing with you now:This historic building is the oldest crematory West of the Mississippi, having been established in 1900. It consists of 8 floors, 3 elevators, and over 7 miles of indoor of the stained glass art in the many skylights and windows were designed, constructed and installed by the Povey brothers (who are entombed at the Mausoleum), A. A. Gerlich, and Louis C. of the marble statuary in the mausoleum was hand-carved from Carrara marble at the Taverlli Studios in Italy, then shipped to Oregon. The Mausoleum houses one of three exact re-creations of Michelangelo’s famous Pietà. Weighing close to 7,000 lbs, the replica was carved by Taverelli Studios in 1969 using marble from the same Italian quarry where Michelangelo carved the original Pietà in 1499.
