Coaching Outdoors: a rural retreat | Brockholes | Thursday, 26. September 2019

“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” – Albert Einstein
Coaching outdoors brings depth and creativity to coaching outcomes. The attentional effect of nature and the abundant metaphors of an outdoor space provide the client with insight and knowledge which it can be difficult to find in an office or classroom. Re-sensitised and re-focussed, they can explore systems and relationships anew and draw connections between their physical and mental understanding. Being coached outdoors is powerful and the results really do stick.
This retreat is for new and experienced coaches who would like to take their coaching outdoors - with Claire Bradshaw and Helen Roscoe. We will explore how practising outdoors and inviting the environment in brings greater connection, not only with our clients but with ourselves. When we are a-tuned and aware, mentally, emotionally and physically, we are at our best and able to offer that focus and exquisite attention to our clients. The C-MAPS model will give us a framework for our 2 days. You can read more about the approach here.
Our approach
Integral: necessary to make the whole complete.
Together we bring an inclusive, balanced approach which embraces connection and celebrates wholeness.
Outcomes
You will leave understanding how coaching outdoors can be different from and similar to traditional indoor coaching. You will feel confident in your abilities and stance as an outdoor coach and carry with you tools and techniques to use beyond the retreat. You will know cognitively and somatically what it means to you and your clients to work outdoors and be able to tune-in to the external environment as a way of connecting with your own practice and with your clients.
