Spring 2020 – Acrylic Painting Abstraction | San Francisco Art Institute | Saturday, 21. March 2020

Acrylic Painting AbstractionKatie Curry 6 sessions >> Saturdays, March 21- May 2(No class April 11)10:00am-1:00pm, FMC Studio 27, $295
In this class we will explore the methods and modes of painting abstraction. We will familiarize ourselves with a broad range of contemporary and art historical artists working within abstraction as an impetus for inspiration. Through our explorations we will discover intuitive points of contact in which to generate marks and imagery that bring the subconscious to the fore. In addition, various substrates/surfaces including those that are seemingly non-traditional will be considered. Students from all backgrounds are encouraged to join.
____Katie Curry lives and works in San Francisco as both an artist and educator. She received her BFA in studio art from Westmont College in Santa Barbara and graduated with her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2019. Katie's work explores the liminal space that exists between the traditions of painting, drawing and sculpture.
