Lunchtime Learning with Bevyhouse: How Modular Building is Changing Single-Family Residential Construction | AIA Santa Barbara | Wednesday, 25. March 2020

Building technology – How Modular Building is Changing Single-Family Residential Construction
Course Description:
Construction costs are skyrocketing, skilled labor is in decline, and the permitting process is becoming more stringent and time-consuming.  These factors require a paradigm shift in residential construction.  New developments in modular, factory-built homes are a viable solution to the problem.  Join us for a factory tour and discussion about how factory-built homes can accommodate any level of customization while being permitted and built faster than their stick-built counterparts.  We’ll cover how you can tap into the state permitting process as well as how modular homes can apply to complete custom designs, ADU’s and even remodel/additions.
Presented by Bryan Henson of Bevyhouse
Bryan Hensen is a licensed General Contractor; he also holds a master’s degree and taught graduate-level courses on green building at UCSB.  After leading an innovative, high-end construction company for over 12 years, Bryan Henson formed Bevyhouse, a licensed manufacturer, as a solution to the increasing cost, time and client fatigue associated with custom home building.  Bevyhouse’s mission is to provide high quality, beautiful homes that are faster and more cost-effective than traditional building practices.  Bevyhouse exists to partner with architects and designers to design, fabricate and install custom homes using a suite of pre-engineered components to deliver custom projects with factory precision and efficiency.
