Frau Fiber's Sewing Rebellion: Faux Frau training | Camera Obscura Art Lab at 1450 Ocean | Sunday, 27. October 2019

Think you have what it takes to be a Sewing Rebellion Faux Frau? Sewing Rebellion is the educational arm of the Institute 4 Labor Generosity Workers & Uniforms (ILGWU), a project by Frau Fiber that aims to change the fast fashion apparel system through individual sewing empowerment and awareness of conditions in the global garment industry. This series of trainings are for fabricators who would like to become Faux Fraus prepared to lead the people in sewing, altering and repurposing projects each month at Sewing Rebellions in Santa Monica, around the Southland and across the nation.
Pledge to join the sewing army, and Frau Fiber and highly skilled current Faux Fraus will provide valuable information. Trainings consist of social time, reports from the field, scheduling pop ups and maneuvers, and sewing instruction in support of current Sewing Rebellion actions. Frau Fiber demonstrates and tutors her battalion on sewing techniques and the philosophy behind each campaign. Any fabricator with sewing experience is welcome; bring your sewing machine or basic hand sewing skills.*
