Interwoven: The Blended Heritage of Nordics and Native Peoples | Nordic Museum | Saturday, 15. September 2018

Interwoven: The Blended Heritage of Nordics and Native Peoples is the first of two symposiums planned in conjunction with the Interwoven oral history project, which was initiated by the Nordic Museum to collect a dozen oral history interviews from subjects with mixed Nordic and Native American heritage. A panel of four project participants will discuss the Interwoven interviews and broader themes relevant to the project. Panelists include Alison DeRiemer, videographer for the Interwoven project; Susan Ringstad Emery, Interwoven interviewee and artist; Jennifer Ott, historian and assistant director, HistoryLink.org; Tessa Campbell, senior curator, Hibulb Cultural Center.  The panel session will be moderated by Fred Poyner IV, Collections Manager, who also serves as one of the Interwoven project co-leads.
Following the panel session, audience members are invited to participate in a tour of the museum's new Cultural Resource Center. Audience members will be welcomed with a buffet-style lunch.
Support for the Interwoven project has been generously provided by 2018 Heritage Projects Program.
Cost: $10.00
