Mind's Eye-Photographs By The Blind Students Of Kolkata | Kakao Chocolate And Coffee | Friday, 29. December 2017

Dec 29 - Jan 31
Hours of opening are: Monday through Friday; 7:30am – 6:00pm

In 2015, Amrita-Seattle organized the “The Mind’s Eye”: a photography workshop for blind students of West Bengal, India coming from low income and dysfunctional families.

The goal was to empower these young students through the art of photography and make them believe in the power of the individual. This was the first time that these students laid their hands upon a camera and felt the concept of a “dimension”. The displayed photographs, captured entirely by the workshop’s students reflect the spectrum of daily activities and lifestyle in present-day suburban West Bengal.

All proceeds from the photograph prints will be used towards the upliftment of the Blind Boy’s Home in West Bengal, and facilitating more of such workshops in other parts of India for disabled students of low-income background.
