RIVER RAT RECYCLE REGATTA | Capt Hirams Resort | Sunday, 13. October 2019

BACKGROUND & PURPOSEWalking Tree Brewery & Capt Hirams Resort presents the Recycled Regatta which encourages community fun and river awareness through a boating race made of 100% recycled floatables.
The primary function of this regatta is to increase awareness for the need to recycle no matter how big your business or small your family dynamics.

RACE TIMES: We will have upwards of 25 teams in total.  Therefore we will launch multiple HEAT RACES with a max of 5 boats per heat.  The 1st HEAT race will begin at NOON and continue until all boats have been launched!
RACE DYNAMICS
Each vessel is built from 100% approved recyclable materials and manned by a 4-person team. The floatable creations are required to navigate a water course route without leaving any part or parcel of your creation in the Lagoon. Cross the finish line with all original contents of your vessel and your 4-person team and see if your finish time makes you the crowned regatta winners!

REGATTA RULES AND REGULATIONS
Each team is allowed to enter one boat
Boats must be constructed from 100% approved recyclable materials. No boat parts, man-made items or glass may be used in the construction. 
All boats must be human poweredAll crew members must wear a USCG approved floatation deviceBoats are to be manned by a crew of fourAll four crew members must be on board when launched and back on board at the finish line During the duration of the race one crew member must remain on the boat at all timesAll boats must adhere to a MAX 200lb weight limit5 boats per race heatAll boats must have a visible name marked on the vesselAll teams are to have a name | theme Additional awards for spirit, design and costuming | get creativeAll teams are responsible for assuring that all parts of their boat return safely to shore and no parts are left behind to avoid disqualification
