VA Eastern Kansas Mental Health Summit 2018- From Service to Civilian | Washburn University- Union Hall | Friday, 14. September 2018

The purpose of this year’s summit is to enhance the mental health and well-being of Veterans and their family members through increased collaboration between the VA and the community.
The objectives of the Summit are to:


Discuss new VA and non-VA resources for addressing the mental health care needs of Veterans and their family members in Eastern Kansas and Northwestern Missouri.


Provide education regarding the recent Presidential Executive Order expanding mental health care to other than honorable discharges to increase access and reduce *******.


Establish how VA Eastern Kansas is engaging community providers in creating more choices for mental health care within the Veteran’s home and community. 


Introduce the concepts and expansion of Whole Health services in caring for our nation’s heroes and how comprehensive holistic care affects mental health well-being. 


Demonstrate a real-life analysis of the challenges and processes transitioning service members encounter in their journey back to civilian life.
