Yong Kwon, Partner at Novacap
Yong Kwon has been involved in advising technology, media, telecom and other growth companies on capital raising and strategic initiatives since 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and an MBA from the University of Toronto. Prior to joining Novacap in 2014, Mr. Kwon was in the Diversified Industries Group at Barclays in Toronto where he was responsible for the origination and execution of M&A advisory, equity and debt financing transactions, primarily in technology and other growth sectors. Prior to Barclays, Mr. Kwon was a member of the Communications, Media and Technology Group at RBC Capital Markets where he led the coverage effort for a number of public and private Canadian technology companies. During his career in investment banking, Mr. Kwon has completed over 40 transactions with aggregate value of over $30 billion. Mr. Kwon is Chairman of the Board of Leading Edge Geomatics and the former Chairman of Firmex and Director of Onstream.
Daniel Kim, EVP of Corporate Development at Baylin Technologies Inc
Daniel has been in the investment industry since 1994 and with Paradigm Capital since 2002. Prior to Paradigm, Daniel was the lead technology Analyst at National Bank Financial and Head of Research at LOM. Daniel began his investment career at Richardson Greenshields as a research associate. Brendan Wood has ranked Daniel as one of the top technology analysts in several areas: quality of research, quality of investment ideas, knowledge of sector, quality of written reports and credibility of research. Daniel has an M.B.A. from Queen’s School of Business and a B.Sc. from the University of Toronto.
Jason D. Kim, Managing Director, M&A at National Bank Financial
Jason Kim is a Managing Director in the Mergers & Acquisitions team at National Bank Financial. Jason has over 15 years of M&A advisory and corporate finance experience, including a broad range of domestic, cross-border and international transactions including buy-side, divestitures, hostile defence, restructuring, fairness opinion and advisory assignments across various industries. Prior to joining National Bank, Jason headed up corporate development and financial strategy at Shred-it, a former Birch Hill-owned company which was sold to Stericycle. Prior to that, Jason spent 11 years at CIBC predominately in the M&A group, as well as the Power & Utilities and Merchant Banking groups, and also advised clients in the mid-market space. Jason holds an MBA degree from the Rotman School of Management and a Hon.BSc degree from the University of Toronto.
Chris Kim, Executive Director at J.P. Morgan
Chris Kim is an Executive Director in the Metals & Mining Investment Banking team at J.P. Morgan. Chris has a broad range of M&A / strategic advisory and corporate finance experience, executing transactions for North American mining clients. Prior to his time at J.P. Morgan, Chris worked for 6 years at Goldman Sachs in their New York, Los Angeles and Toronto offices, also in their Metals & Mining Investment Banking teams. Chris also spent 2 years working at Francisco Partners, a technology-focused private equity firm in San Francisco. Chris holds an HBA degree from the Ivey Business School at Western University.
