Community Music School Open House & Parent Orientation - FREE DEMO LESSONS | Stevens Center | Saturday, 25. January 2020

Find your perfect music teacher and organize a lesson time all in the same day!  Our spring semester open house and parent orientation meeting is a convenient opportunity to meet the perfect music teacher for you or a family member.  Options available for students 6 months old through adults. Take demo lessons, attend a Suzuki Violin class demo, get sized for violin or cello rental, or try out instruments in our instrument petting zoo.  Parents can speak to our friendly staff about registration and program details, and attend a 15 minute parent meeting at 9:00 AM to learn more about our programs including children's choral ensembles, Royal Conservatory Method music theory, group piano, music appreciation, and youth ensembles. UNCSA's Community Music School provides a complete musical education that includes regular instruction with professional faculty members, recitals, chamber music options, and music theory/ear training courses.

Private Lessons: Students registered for the open house can take a short 15 minute demo lesson with a teacher.  Demo lessons available in piano, guitar, voice, cello, violin, viola, drums, woodwinds, and brass. Piano lessons are available for ages 5 and up, including three group class options!

Sing and Strump Group Ukulele is a fun introductory class in which students learn the basics of playing the ukulele, ensemble singing, and music theory through performance of familiar children’s songs.  Parents and grandparents are encouraged to assist the student during class as a fun family activity.  Demo class and Q&A at 11:00 AM.

The Suzuki Violin Method holds as a central truth that every child can become proficient at music making, no matter the level of natural raw talent. This is possible due to the fundamental truth that all of us have the ability to learn how to speak our own mother-tongue. The Suzuki Method invites us to approach the language of music on the violin in the same manner. Children can start as young as 3.5 years old.

Our Choral Ensembles for Young Musicians serve as a great introductory courses into music, and are free for students enrolled in private lessons.  Demo class not available at open house.  Registration available on our website.  Sections are available for grades K-2, 3-4, and 5-8 on Saturday mornings.
